Pick your bill

Insurance

Car and home — Direct Line, Aviva, Hastings Direct, AXA and more, plus the FCA rule that caps what they can charge you at renewal.

Energy

British Gas, Octopus, OVO, E.ON Next, EDF and ScottishPower — why there's no cancellation line, and the window where leaving a fixed tariff is free.

Telecoms

BT, Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk, Vodafone, EE and Plusnet — who to call, how much notice, and what leaving costs.

Gym

The one bill with no regulator at all — what protects you instead, and the direct debit mistake that turns a cancellation into a debt.

Your rights

Five bills, four regulators, wildly different protection. Only insurance caps your price — what the others give you instead.

What this site is

Beat My Bill publishes what we can source about contacting UK providers when a bill needs challenging: the number, how their phone menu routes you, what leaving actually costs, and what the rules entitle you to.

We don't sell anything, we're not a broker, and we take no commission from any provider. There's nothing to buy here.

We also don't promise you a saving. Anyone quoting you an average figure is describing other people, not you. What we can do is make sure you're not calling the wrong number and not asking the wrong question. General

Why the labels matter

Phone numbers rot. Lines get merged, brands get restructured, and half the numbers circulating online lead to a department that can't help you.

So every number here carries one of three labels. Verified means we traced it to the provider's own published page on a date we state. Unverified means we hold it but haven't confirmed it — and we say so on the page rather than quietly hoping. The full definitions are here.
